Inspiration 2.0

Building upon the previous entry, ill continue.

Among the three individuals, my dear friend Kylus holds the second spot. Even if he never stumbles upon this message, I want to send a big shout-out to Kylus, my dear pal, for being an absolute beast and for all how he has inspired me.

I imagine that there have been and will continue to be others who come across Kylus and feel inspired by him. Those who can inspire do so wherever they go.

Kylus and I met a few years ago and have stayed great friends ever since. His hard mentality and grit pushed me to be better and do better. His tenacity and perseverance were pivotal in shaping my climbing journey, motivating me to seek fresh adventures and optimize every circumstance. I thought i had met people like this in my life, but after being around him for a summer, I was wrong. It becomes apparent when you spend time with individuals who challenge you and have no tolerance for mediocrity. We would go on climbs amid heat, chilly mornings, and even when I had pneumonia. Only one rule applied NO COMPLAINING, complaining wouldn’t do anything, just do the thing and suck it up. I reflect on the many instances when I felt like giving up, venting my frustrations, or finding faults in everything around me, but then I would catch sight of Kylus, who never seemed to complain. Seeing his unwavering determination in the face of similar circumstances, I would find the motivation to persevere. I left my first Yosemite season with a determination to push myself and improve my climbing skills, but above all, to pursue wild adventures and especially to enjoy the journey. You don’t know what type of people you’re missing in your life until they come along and when they do, it’s eye opening. Understanding that your previous efforts grazed the possibilities of what you could achieve or the person you could transform into. Kylus played a huge role in that and again I thank him.
