As we approach the end of 2023, it's hard to believe how quickly this year has passed, but then again, don't we say that every year? However, this year felt different, perhaps because it marked a return to relative normalcy after the wild and chaotic years of the pandemic. Although half the population suffered financially, many of us, including myself, felt like we were stuck at a certain age. Despite being 26, I still feel like a curious kid, eager to explore life and embrace new challenges. Whenever I travel to different countries or states, I find myself drawn to people's thoughts and perspectives on life. While some people's ideas may seem absurd and I think to myself this gal or guy must be out of their mind, it's rare. More often than not, I'm privileged to hear new ideas and ways of thinking that broaden my horizons. To be honest it has been an odd transition going from communicating with people that have a bit more counter-culture outlook to I suppose the people I interact with on a day-to-day basis now. What I'm trying to say is people who will uproot their lives to go live in the mountains with trees and dirt typically will think differently than people who live in a place that sometimes can be considered a small pretentious beach town, I didn’t say that but I know people that would. They are two lifestyles not one is like the other. I feel I have some sort of leverage to say that due to the fact I have lived both and am currently living in the latter.
