San Diego 281

San Diego's reputation as a beautiful coastal city has finally caught up with it, matched by its increasingly high cost of living, something that maybe I wasn't taking notice of when I was younger; there was no need. Recent reports highlight that the housing market in San Diego is experiencing significant price surges. In November 2023, the median price for single-family homes rose to $980,000, an 11 percent increase from the previous year. Funny enough, I am nowhere near that number to be purchasing a house, but it's interesting enough to keep me reading and informed. This upward trend is not just limited to housing; the overall cost of living, including everyday expenses, has also been impacted by inflation. This cost increase is placing San Diego among the more expensive cities in the United States.

All of this is important for anyone planning to move to San Diego. It's multiplying so quickly that it feels as though all the increases in prices for everything will never stop. It's only the beginning. I meet so many people here, and it feels that every single one of them is not from here or not even from the state of California. It's being overtaken by transplants.
