MRI results and decision.

My MRI results came in quite quickly, and they were quite shocking to me. They indicate moderate tendinosis, which is the degeneration of collagen in specific tendons—in my case, the rotator cuff. Additionally, I have a tear in my labrum and paralabral cysts within my labrum. Paralabral cysts are swellings around the socket of the shoulder joint, essentially pockets of fluid that develop under a labrum tear.

Obviously, I'm not a doctor or an orthopedist, but one doesn't need to be to search online what these terms mean. Without doing so, you'd be left wondering about the significance of all these medical terms when receiving any sort of health results. For now, I'm not too worried about it. I'll continue to avoid any intensive upper body workouts, slowly getting weaker and losing all the climbing strength I've worked hours to achieve, and go to physical therapy. If given the choice to undergo surgery, I'll most likely opt out if I'm told it's not crucial for returning to my normal functionality. This is a long journey, and every day counts. I don't know when I'll be back to climbing the way I was, but when I do, I'll make sure it counts.
