Soon

It’s been a long, tedious journey these last six months. Sometimes, I felt as though the world had stopped, and my life had stopped with it. San Diego always holds a special place in my heart, as it should—it’s my home and a part of who I am. I don’t regret a single moment I’ve been home; it was an experience that revealed its meaning and forced me to put things into perspective as I dived into a life of routine and familiarity. Sometimes, I felt too comfortable and itched for the day I would be on the road again. Traveling to different states, driving through cities and towns I’d never heard of, I became obsessed five years ago when I first discovered the freedom of the open road, quite literally. I missed the long drives through the night, the abrupt stops for food, and the frantic search for a stealthy spot to sleep. I’m a simple man and I enjoy the simple pleasures of living out of my van. Not much has changed, from being in a small Volvo sedan to a 2008 Subaru Forester, and now my giant 1-ton Ford van. I strive to adventure, to find the known in the unknown, and to keep my curiosity sharp; my motive for this lifestyle hasn’t strayed far from where it started.
