If its meant to be

I've felt a pull to the Sierra Nevadas ever since my first season living in Yosemite Valley. I moved on physically to other places, but my heart stayed within those mountains. Growing up in San Diego, places like Yosemite, the Redwoods, Sequoias, and the Sierra Nevada mountain range were always a tad far for easy access. They weren’t the quick 1-2 hour drive to Big Bear or Julian, and my family was never keen on camping or exploring that aspect of the outdoors. However, I was lucky to have other experiences that my family provided. I was able to travel all over Mexico and Baja California—places that are etched into my memories. It wasn't until I got older that I started to explore these treasures that California had to offer. Now, here I am, looking to go back, no questions asked. It would be a special opportunity to live and work in the Sierras—not necessarily in Yosemite Valley, but perhaps in Tuolumne Meadows, the high country. I can’t describe it here, for it would be like painting an image that can only be understood with your eyes. The air is crisp, the trees seem never-ending, and the feeling of wilderness floats around like an illness. I'm drawn back to it, and I can’t help but think it's meant for me to be back in those mountains, whether it’s to climb, walk, write, or just look up at the sky. It’s where im supposed to be.
