Funday or just a Sunday ?

Sundays represent a day off for most people. I say most people because remember there are people still working on Sundays and sometimes I’m one of those people. Just be kind, i’m sure a-lot of them would rather be doing something else.

You’ll see more people than expected at restaurants, brunch spots, beaches, and practically anywhere else. It almost feels like the only day of the week when people truly feel free to do as they wish. This sentiment stems from having Saturday to recover from Friday’s work, allowing for a full day of enjoyment on Sunday. It’s a pretty vicious and, somewhat sadly, a routine cycle, but I won’t delve too deeply into that.

Let me share how I spent this particular Sunday. I woke up and met Trevor at LA Fitness. We spent about 15 minutes in the hot tub, another 15 in the sauna, and then showered—no workout, just pure recovery. It was actually really great. Afterwards, we headed down to Leucadia for the farmers market. It was my first visit there, and I was pretty impressed. It’s one of the better markets I’ve been to in San Diego, with lots of fresh produce, grass-fed meat, fruit, and cool, locally-owned restaurant businesses. I would definitely recommend it, 10/10. After doing a few laps around the farmers market and enjoying the community’s company, it was time to move on with the rest of the day.

I had worked up a big appetite all morning, so Trevor and I went to Nectarine Grove, which has possibly become my favorite restaurant in San Diego. It’s on the pricier side, but with quality ingredients and familiar dishes, you really can’t go wrong. I ordered the protein egg scramble, and while it was good, I don’t think I’d order it again. Next time, I’d probably go for the chimichurri steak bowl like last time—it just felt like more value for my money. I also ordered a Paleo brownie. Seriously, who do I think I am? The brownie was just how I like it: gooey, soft, and super rich in chocolate taste. Alright, enough talking about food before I get hungry writing this.

We went our separate ways afterward. I headed to the climbing gym, and Trevor well he went wherever he goes. Who really knows? I visited Vital Climbing Gym in Oceanside for the first time, curious to see what it was like. As a gym enthusiast, it’s always fun visiting a new gym. Id consider myself a gymthunsiast.

After that, I grabbed some more food and just enjoyed the rest of my night. I was lucky enough to be in the mood for a movie, which ended up being “The Iron Claw,” starring Zac Efron and the new actor who plays a chef in that one TV show—I don’t feel like looking it up right now. Let me tell you, it was freaking stellar, and I’m going to write a whole blog post reviewing that movie.
