Nevada 218

Not many reasons I haven't written. I suppose life has gotten a bit in the way. Friends coming and going. Weeks and weekends feel interlocked together. It's always a delight to have friends old and new visiting me. Ironically each time a friend has visited the weather completely flips on its belly. It goes from blue cloudless skies to gray overcast days. When it rains in Vegas the climbing community seems hushed. Most know better than to climb on wet sandstone and the ones who don’t can usually be found being publicly outed online. When it’s pouring rain you’ll see parking lots riddled with sprinter vans and adventure mobiles scattered all over with dirtbag climbers harboring from the elements. In my opinion, it’s been a wretched season for climbing this winter but a remarkable season for winter sports such as skiing, ice climbing, and snowball fights. On days it’s suitable to get out, we get out, wake up at the crack of dawn and drive into red rocks with Jack. We take the approach trail to the crag we have our eyes set on and start smashing out routes within our skillset. Those are the days we all look forward to.
