Mondays are typically my rest day from training, but especially today, specifically because I have some cold or infectious illness. Slow morning trying to maximize the amount of time I’m in bed sleeping and resting. My shoulder has been giving me a harder time than usual, which brings up some room for concern. Unfortunately, the medical care system here isn't the most efficient, so it's brought the whole discovery of what's wrong with my right shoulder to a halt. Eventually, the goal is to get an MRI and figure out exactly what's going on in there. I have made the choice that when I do get a medical diagnosis and depending on the severity of my shoulder, whether surgery will be required will ultimately be the factor on whether I continue training for this Ironman 70.3. As much as I would hate to pull out of it, this is the only reason I would. This injury has prevented me from climbing and doing anything I love doing, so if a few months need to be committed to the healing process, that is what ill do. I am trying to stay optimistic and hope that it's nothing too serious and can be helped with plenty of physical therapy, which would allow me to continue my training to a certain degree.

As I said, slow morning coming into the day. I woke up and drove to Panera, the usual spot for me. I only drink the coffee and never eat the food here. I have memories of when I was a child of my mom bringing me to Panera and eating a sandwich with macaroni. Now I come in to snag a coffee and work on my silly website.
