When the last time you did an actual distant walk aka a hike was last year in September. I’m shooting for an awesome backpacking adventure in July, the location for now won’t be disclosed. Time to dust off the backpack and gear. I’ve always found that to be an exciting saying, since it means coming back and being put to use. People of all over the world that do sports and hobbies that fall into a certain season dust off their tools, whether it’s a pair of Skis, surfboard, climbing gear, or kayaking. The time comes where you march into that storage area, move around a few things, and there it is covered in Cobb webs and dust waiting to be brushed off. You know you’re about to have a good time. I had a good feeling of that recently taking my surfboard out of the storage, it was like grabbing a tool you have no idea to use but fully intend on taking the next month to learn and better yourself with it. When I started getting older, I wanted to have three sports or three activities that I was very interested in. I've always known the first two it would be climbing and surfing, the third has taken me some time to find out, and I still don't know if I've discovered it yet. Id like to say its paragliding or some sort of falling in the sky activity, but i have yet to do any, so I don’t know yet.
I choose surfing and climbing solely because I feel like they are the two that I can achieve a solid level of athleticism at, but also the important thing was how close they get me to nature, something of crazy magnitude. Think about places like Yosemite it's absolutely bonkers, then you have the ocean a huge body of water that is so undiscovered but yet we feel so grounded to it. It’s a beautiful and awesome feeling to be able to play and enjoy ourselves in natures playgrounds.
